| The
process by which files are transferred from your local computer to the web
server is called "FTP" (File Transport Protocol). As a Boot Networks
customer you have access via FTP 24-hours a day. As such, you can create and
maintain your web pages on your own computer and upload files to your web site
at your leisure. Some website creation programs incorporate FTP into their
functions (ex:Netscape).  If your website software does not include FTP
(upload) capabilities, or you do not use such software, you will need to use
an FTP program to upload your files (ex: Ws-ftp).   If you need to
download a FTP program log in to our SUPPORT
site.  If you don't know your username and password you may obtain one by
emailing support@bootnetworks.com. ** Important Note Customers with Microsoft FrontPage
extensions installed on their sites should use only the FrontPage publishing
feature to transfer files. Using regular FTP can corrupt the extensions,
disabling the functionality of the FrontPage web and requiring that the site be
deleted to reinstall the extensions.  If you already have an FTP program, log into
and upload your files to the server. You need to know
your username and password.  You MUST use index.html or index.htm
as your first file you want people so see.If you want to learn the HTML
language and develop professional pages you can find the complete HTML manual at http://www.w3.org/pub/WWW/MarkUp/html3/Contents.html
